My brother, Charles Luther Murphy, in a school picture. I am not sure exactly when this was taken, but it probably when he was about twelve years old. no doubt it was at a time when Vitalis was a big issue with the hair-combing crowd.
Charles was named for both his grandfathers, Luther Westfall, and Charles Curtis Murphy. Unfortunately, he inherited the bad luck of bothe sides.

Hi, I did a Google search on my great-grandfather, Luther Westfall, and found your notation regarding same with the picture of your brother. Can you give me any information on your Luther Westfall? Mine was born in Miami County, Ohio in 1854. He married twice, first to Laura Jane Lane and later to Sarah Jennie West.
Thanks for any information. I am trying to fill in some blanks on that side of the family.
